Hi Arie, I'm very interested in the S&W M&P. Can you tell me more about the M&P vs Glock 17 and LDA?

1. Recoil recovery
2. Grip angle
3. TRigger pull weight (first pull), at initial take up?
4. Trigger weight on the trigger ( when you prep the trigger?
5. What is your Plus points on the M&P?
6. What you like to improve on the M&P?
7. Reliability? Sensitive to factory rounds?

1. Recoil recovery
LDA is my favorit, the heavy gun has little recoil

makes no difference to me

3. TRigger pull weight (first pull), at initial take up?
The LDA feels having a light trigger, the trigger of the Glock is shortiest

4. Trigger weight on the trigger ( when you prep the trigger?
1. LDA 2. Glock 3. S&W

5. What is your Plus points on the M&P?
The M&P is just a backup gun in case the LDA breaks. If I could buy me another LDA instead of the M&P I would certainly do that. Only plus point is the triggerguard is bigger as where I have problems with the Glock.

6. What you like to improve on the M&P?
Trigger is still heavy and need to practice a lot to improve my shots. Main improvement will be accuracy, S&W has made it to shoot groups of 15-20 cm. A top box with a NS in front far away will be hard to get.

7. Reliability? Sensitive to factory rounds?
Those 3 guns don't have problems and will fire every round of every manufacturer, as long as you do not modify the triggerpull.

8. Performance?
I prefer the LDA, 18 rounds in the mag, light feeling trigger, you like revolver shooting or 1911 government then the LDA will be the best choice. with 147 gr bullets hardly no recoil. precision shooting is possible.

Main advantage of the Glock is its simplicety, easy handling, light, and if you use 147 gr bullets recoil is OK. Plenty of mags available in Europe as in the USA. Plenty of aproven sights available. Cheap. precision shooting is possible.

The S&W M&P will not last very long in my possesion, its cheaper as the Glock, but I still have only 2 mags and other mags are in Europe hard to find, pity I did not inform about that before I bought it. The holster works if you draw it in controle, if you are in a hurry it keeps sticking. I have to work on that. If you use 147 gr bullets recoil is OK. precision shooting, forget it.

My opinion:

Look first for the Glock 17.

If you have enough money and you like shooting the 1911 government, then choose for the LDA.

If you have trouble with the grip of the Glock and you can buy a lot spare mags of the M&P and you don't mind its less accuracy then take the M&P.

This year i shoot too with one M&P

The gun have one very little sensation of recoil (the last year i shoot one SP01)

With the different grip you have the choice for what is the best for you !!!

The trigger pull weight on my gun is 3,00 Kg the trigger pull is good ! (pretravel is less than one Glock) but the reset is less sensitif than Glock !
I don't like the LDA Trigger because of the double click for the reset !

I like the M&P trigger feeling but te weight is 3,00 Kg but i think it's not a problem !!!

5. What is your Plus points on the M&P?
First I love the look !!!
I Love he grip !
The feelt of the recoil is very low.
The accuracy is top for this kind of gun

6. What you like to improve on the M&P?
The sight ?!? (but the original Novak is very good)

7. Reliability? Sensitive to factory rounds?
This gun don't have problems and will fire every round of every manufacturer !

Zachytil jsem množící se stížnosti na nedovírání závěru a na zápalníky praskající při větším sušení.

BTW, u zbraně lze použít vodítko a vratná pružina Wolff pro G17.

Včera jsem se hrabal na http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/ a v pár vygooglovaných recenzích, ale našel jsem tam jenom zmínky o slabém otisku zápalníku u rpvních pistolí a o tom, že pak SW upravovali úderník.

Asi ještě chvíli počkám, než konstrukce dozraje, i když jinak vypadá sympaticky.

Na US fórech kde se baví policajti a podobný "uživatelé" jsem zaznamenal většinu reakcích kladných, až vyloženě nadšených. Skoro to vypadá že se MPčku povede stát se americkým Glockem co do vyráběného příslušenství (pouzdra, miřidla...). Připomínám že jsou to diskuse lidí kteří se o MP baví jako o služební, nebo off-duty zbrani. Reakce sportovních střelců můžou být jiné.

Jako alternativu můžeš zvážit i HK P2000, nebo novou HK P30. Ale vzhledem k podpoře produktů HK ze strany dovozce bych se trochu bál té dostupnosti náhradních dílů (třeba náhradní zásobníky na P2000, pořádné pouzdro...)

S Glockem se asi nic pokazit nedá, příslušenství na něj je skoro jako na 1911 a dá se dobře sehnat i u nás (pouzdra, miřidla... Zásobníky jsou všude a za rozumné peníze.)
